Hello there! I am TheUltimateGrass! I really like learning about the sciences, to be more specific, astronomy and biology. I am a student going into sensor year (hooray! I am almost done!) Also the teachers are very mixed on their ability or will to enforce the phone policy sooo.>:D Just to note, I don’t check my talk pages too often sooo sorry!

I tend to edit these types of pages but I will make small edits to unrelated topics, stumbling across them by clicking that random button like I am addicted to it (probably am tbh). Back to the topics I usually edit, I like to expand on species pages that have like a few sentences. They hurt to see :(. My best expansion I would say would be Chromacris speciosa (holy shit that was a mess. Like who thought it was a good idea to add that many refs to the name!?). I create pages too! In the page holy molly I was atrocious. Like look at the stub ahh pages with NGC 7011, NGC 6999 (yeah delete it why not?), NGC 2809, etc etc. This convo mentioning me was kinda a wake up call to try not to create two sentenced pages and to do a bit more expanding instead of creating. However I think the best pages I’ve made are Jupiter analogues, Stellar engulfment, Amblysemius (fuck this fish and its confusing ahh taxonomic history), zefranki (watch this guys channel plz) and the Cretaceous resinous interval. The type of editing I do is chaotic. I like to do it in chunks, just feels natural and I can check for mistakes better. These are usually sourced from the scientific literature itself. I am also starting (haven’t done it in a while) to draw diagrams and uploading them to commons, stuff like galaxy structure/evolution, craters, exoplanet transits and phylogenies of things like lizards and harvestman (but you can call them Daddy Longlegs). Check out the fossil me and my family found in the yard in Texas!

Places I’ve been to or just drove across: California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Texas, Florida, Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). I am very grateful and lucky to have family who are able to travel places and take me with. Got to see lots of interesting places like the redwoods or the mangroves in Florida.

Also fuck AI, especially generative AI. There is little place in the real world for AI (especially generative "AI art", if that’s even a thing) and ESPECIALLY no place in Wikipedia. There’s also more value in human-effort, like would Wikipedia be as impressive as it is if a AI just generated all the pages? Even for the bad pages, someone (probably) tried their best and wanted of to contribute. You have to home-grown your slop, slop isn’t slop if it was mass produced. I still recoil after it was pointed out that, a now deleted image, was a AI generated image. Thanks to Nrco0e for pointing it out! Where was I again? Oh yeah, AI (again, especially generative AI) also isn’t good for your mind and environment too.
