Germanide carbides or carbide germanides are compounds containing anions composed of carbide (C4−) and germanide (Ge4−). They can be considered as mixed anion compounds. Related compounds include the carbide gallides, carbide silicides, germanide nitrides, germanide phosphides, arsenide carbides and nitride carbides. Those with formulas that include three metal atoms, may be termed antiperovskites.
