Gerry Bryan Pass is an American film producer and founder of Chrome Entertainment, based in Los Angeles with offices in New York and an upcoming office in Paris. He is credited on more than 70 film and television projects in producing capacities, including work as producer, executive producer, associate producer, and acknowledgments with special thanks. ^[1]

Gerry Bryan Pass was born in Long Beach, California, and was adopted through the Los Angeles County Adoption Agency by Alvin J. Pass and Sharlene B. Pass. His parents, high school sweethearts from Atwater and Glendale, California, married in 1959 and remained together until Alvin Pass’s death in 2001. Sharlene Pass never remarried and died on November 29, 2024, after a battle with cancer.

As a child, Pass was noted for his independence. He became one of the youngest boys in his region to earn the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. Determined to pursue his own education, he chose to attend Saint Francis High School, paying his tuition by working at East Valley Veterinary Clinic in Sun Valley, California. He graduated in the class of 1980.

After university studies at the University of Massachusetts, Pass began his career at Paramount Pictures in New York City and later joined Walt Disney Studios, working under executives such as Gordon Weaver, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Dick Cook, Michael Eisner, and Arlene Ludwig. He was connected to films including Terms of Endearment, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, A Chorus Line, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

In the late 1980s, Pass was credited as the creator of the **Fox Kids Club**, launched in 1989 as a children’s programming and marketing initiative. His contribution is referenced in the Fox Kids Wikipedia entry. ^[2]

He also created the live-action children’s television show King Koopa’s Kool Kartoons (1989–1990), a Los Angeles–based daily afternoon program hosted by the character King Koopa from the Super Mario franchise. The program combined comedy segments, games, and cartoon blocks, serving as a wraparound for animated programming. ^[3]

From 1998 to 2001, Pass worked in San Francisco and Palo Alto with **Creative-i Advertising**, and later served as a management supervisor for **Publicis Technology**, gaining experience in advertising, branding, and corporate communications.

In September 2001, Pass effectively retired from entertainment and shifted his focus to real estate investment. He founded **Kew Property Management**, a property development and management company that he operated until 2011. During this period, he bought, renovated, and resold more than 67 properties, primarily in the Palm Springs region.

In 2013, Pass returned to the entertainment industry by founding **Chrome Entertainment**, a production company specializing in independent film development, packaging, financing, and production. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, with additional offices in New York and a forthcoming office in Paris.

Chrome Entertainment also operates a talent management division, representing and developing actors, writers, and directors. Notable names associated with Chrome include **Paige Herschell**, **Michael Learned**, and **Austin Alexander**, among others. ^[4]

• 12 Feet Deep (2017) – Survival thriller directed by Matt Eskandari, starring Alexandra Park, Nora-Jane Noone, Diane Farr, and Tobin Bell. Pass served as producer and represented both the screenplay and director during development.
• Second Acts (short film) – Social-impact film starring Michael Learned and John Wesley, addressing systemic racism. The film toured internationally, appearing in more than 32 countries and winning multiple awards on the global festival circuit.
• Project Indie Hope (founded 2021) – Initiative created to reduce COVID-19 testing costs for independent film productions by leveraging CARES Act–approved vendors and nonprofit models. PIH sponsored the American Pavilion at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and had a presence at SXSW 2022. ^[6]

Pass has a passion for automobiles and has collected and traded over 120 vehicles, including exotic imports and vintage domestic models. He has also been a lifelong dog owner. His current companion, **Tito**, a red miniature pinscher born in 2021, has attended the Cannes Film Festival four times by 2025. Tito was featured in media coverage of the Palm Dog Awards in May 2025 during the award’s 25th anniversary. ^[10]
