The film follows Charlie Ross (Anthony Padilla), a new tenant in the house of dead man Eddie (Ian Hecox), now a ghost only visible to Charlie. Plot
[edit ]29-year-old Eddie Clayton proposes to his girlfriend, Jessica Olivia Matthews. She expects it to be a wedding proposal, but it turned out to be a roommate proposal. Disappointed, Jessica exits his house; when she slams the door, Eddie's tie is stuck in it. He tries escaping, but slipped off and got choked. Jessica merely hears Eddie whining; sickened by his attitude, she declares a breakup. Eddie later dies and wakes up as a ghost. A man, Charlie Ross, moves to his house. Charlie asks him to leave him alone, but Eddie is apathetic, giving him a ticket to T-Pain's birthday show. Amid the show, an argument ensues between them, impacting on a sandbag that knocks T-Pain dead. God sends him to Heaven. When asked on why can't he be transported, God says that he has an unfinished business; the guide to it is engraved in his chest.
The first task concerns Rick Bowman, Eddie's former chemistry teacher whom he teased as "Dick Blowman". This causes Rick to be a target of verbal abuse amongst students. To abandon usage of the term for good, Eddie burns a room and puts Charlie in there, asking Charlie to scream to Rick if he could use his expertise to open the blocked door. Collaborating with his students, the door is unlocked and the fire is extinguished, awarding Rick with a round of applause and salute. Thus, his name is erased from Eddie's chest.
The second task concerns Eddie's dad Tim. He has not talked with him for a long time, after a blame-shifting regarding Eddie's ignorant mother leaving the household. At Eddie's funeral, Charlie is told to lie down below his Eddie's coffin and voice as Eddie's spirit, saying to Tim that he loves him and that he is sorry for the past. Tim responds likewise, and his named is removed from Eddie's chest. At the funeral, Eddie and Charlie meets Jessica, and thus the journey on finishing the task continues.
Charlie and Eddie follow Jessica and her friend Sam to where Jessica works as an extra. The three quickly got along together; Charlie and Sam secretly got infatuated with each other. At a dance party, Eddie tells Charlie to kiss Jessica; he doesn't, and Eddie possesses him. Charlie has no choice but to admit that Eddie is a ghost. Grieving, she cuts herself from Charlie. Sickened, Charlie leaves, but Eddie admits that Charlie is his best friend. Charlie admits that Eddie is his only friend, and they re-attempt. Jessica initially disbelieves, but Charlie saying that Eddie loves misusing the world penultimate reverses it. Via Charlie, Eddie apologizes to Jessica. Instantly, Heaven is unlocked for Eddie to enter. Before so, Jessica is made to be able to see Eddie, and Eddie says goodbye. In a mid-credits scene, Charlie is with Sam, and Eddie is Charlie's guardian angel. He says that Charlie is likely to die this year (2016).
