Hello, I have been a Wikipedian since June 2025. I like to edit what I'm interested in, being real-estate (shopping malls, tenant pages, office towers) and cars. Usually I will edit pages that are missing information or in other words, outdated or have inaccurate information. Keeping these pages up to date is what helps prevent them from having inaccurate information and essentially becoming a stub.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa
Chapel Hill Mall
Harborplace and The Gallery
Round1 at Towson Town Center

I also make categories (eg. Category:Shopping malls developed by The Hahn Company) that are important for pre-existing categories, as well as redirects to help with editor fatigue (like the redirect page Rouse Co.).

I use programs like ProveIt for citations on the desktop version of Wikipedia, as well as uploading images of malls and logos on Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia's non-free content criteria. I also dislike how the majority of mall articles violate WP:TENANTS and WP:NOTDIRECTORY. I will typically remove these anchor lists if they are exhaustive or show non-major tenants. However, if it's short, I'll generally tag it with "Only MAJOR tenants."

What to expect

[edit ]

You will likely find a shopping mall article with a lack of in-depth information. For articles like those, I usually put them in my sandbox and then do extensive research on before they were developed, who developed them, and their ownership and decline history, or rewrite them entirely if they're filled with outdated information.

I frequently return to articles I have already edited to ensure they stay up-to-date and accurate. Shopping mall articles that I cannot find ANYTHING in depth about them or are WP:ROTM, then they will be put in AfD.

Note that I am a new user and is prone to making errors. If I do, feel free to revert or discuss on my talk page.

Most of the mall articles I edit are primarily in the United States and Canada, such as Sherway Gardens and CrossIron Mills. I do edit malls outside of North America but not as common. Aloha Tower Marketplace is an exception since it's in the U.S. but not in North America.

Articles I have rewritten or significantly cleaned up

When I WON'T place an article in my sandbox to rewrite it

[edit ]

Unless if the article is missing a lot of info, or requires a lot of cleanup, I'll generally fix an article in the mainspace if it already includes sufficient info but is missing a small number that doesn't require a full cleaning.

I don't just focus on the mall's currency; I'll try to go in depth about its original development and impact.

History

[edit ]

Before Wikipedia, I started initially as an editor on Fandom in September 2023. However, I eventually left as I didn't want to spread original research all over the internet (only on articles of real world things and companies.)

Before mall articles, I used to primarily edit a small number of articles, such as Ram 1500 TRX. However, since July 2025, my legacy edits there have been reverted, as I was not used to the platform's policies.

November 2025 is when I started editing mall articles, by adding the developer parameter to the infobox on the article Perimeter Mall. This would later be followed by casinos and office buildings in December 2025 and January 2026. The Harborplace page was extensively updated during those months to document the closures, ownership changes, planning and construction, and redevelopment, with the addition of The Gallery at Harborplace subsection.

Starting in late January 2026, I began using the preview feature more often for edits, particularly ones involving infoboxes. I found out that unknown parameters, whether accidental or not, can be considered disruptive because they create technical problems even though you can't see the error message directly on the article. I also became aware of "deprecated parameters," which is essentially parameters that were formerly supported but no longer are.

As a direct response to the large quantity of mall articles on Wikipedia that just list tenants, while a small number just includes promotional details, I created the humorous essay WP:COMESHOPHERE in March 2026. It is designed to sarcastically suggest editors that they treat a mall articles like an advertisement.

February to May 2026 was when I completed extensive works on malls developed or owned by Mills Corporation, Ivanhoé Cambridge, and Simon Property Group. I created the article Clarksburg Premium Outlets; my second attempt at creating an article after the failed The Shops at Canton Crossing. The final page I done extensive work on for this was Madrid Xanadú on May 9, 2026, while the first one was Arundel Mills on February 25, 2026.

June 2026 is when summer break was starting and I finally have more time to rewrite and complete extensive work on articles. The month started off with construction on the Bayside Marketplace, Jacksonville Landing, Harborplace, and St. Louis Union Station pages. June 10 is when a new image was selected for the Aloha Tower Marketplace page. The final days of June was work on the Hard Rock International pages, including Hard Rock Cafe, Hard Rock Beach Club Choctaw, Hard Rock Vault, Hard Rock Hotel Chicago, and Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

The Bayside Marketplace article was updated to detail the closure of its HRC on August 19, 2026. The Fourth Street Live!, the now-closed Exton Square Mall, and Port Discovery (museum) pages had major renovations completed to fix layouts and information, while two new articles, Outlets of Maui and Wharf Cinema Center Shops, were created, both of which are notable for being popular hubs in the town of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, that were tragically destroyed by the August 2023 wildfires and later demolished in March 2024.

Future articles and rewrites include converting the redirects Queenstown Premium Outlets, Seattle Premium Outlets, and Kittery Premium Outlets into articles; in Kittery's case, it actually used to be an article, but it was later deleted and became a redirect. An article about the Great Wolf Lodge in Perryville, Maryland would be created, as it is the largest location the resort has. The new Live! casino hotels (Louisiana, Virginia) will also have articles created, though how they are layered out is uncertain at the moment. The Bristol Mall and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol would undergo extensive construction and renovation to split info and keep both separate.
