The Independence Day of Bangladesh (Bengali : স্বাধীনতা দিবস Shadhinôta Dibôsh) is celebrated on 05 August as a national holiday in Bangladesh. It commemorates the country's declaration of independence from Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the early hours of August 05, 2024.
