Aemeath (Chinese: 爱弥斯; pinyin: Àimísī) is a fictional character in Wuthering Waves, a 2024 action role playing game developed by Kuro Games. In the game, she is a student at Startorch Academy, who performs as an singer under the persona of Fleet Snowfluff (Chinese: 飞行雪绒; pinyin: Fēixíngxuěróng), and serves as the pilot of the mecha, Exostrider (Chinese: 隧者; pinyin: Suìzhě). She first appeared in late December 2025 and became playable in February 2026.

Concept and design

[edit ]

Aemeath first appeared in a December 2025 cinematic short entitled "transfer student"[3] She has a distinctive appearance, with long pink hair and subtle space-themed clothing.[1] In the video, she leaps onto the motorcycle driven by Lyane. Neither Lyane nor surrounding students acknowledge her persence, suggesting she is invisble to others. However, while she is observing Rover, the protagonist in the game, Rover looks back and makes eye contact, catching her by surprise.[3]

Voice acting

[edit ]

Aemeath is voiced by Cara Theobold in English,[1] Wang Yaxin in Chinese,[1] Satomi Satō in Japanese and Kim Ha-ru  [ko] in Korean.[1] Satomi Sato said that she pitched her own interpretation to the voice director to capture the loneliness and feigned strength hidden behind Aemeath, and finally upended the original plan to match the foreign voice track.[4] She said it was the first time deviating from her original performance.[4]

Music

[edit ]

Aemeath loves to express her feelings through singing.[2] In an interview with Game Grape, Wang Xiebo, also known as Jix Wang, the composer of the game, stated that the audio team designed different tracks to portray emotional turning point of Aemeath. [5]

Reception

[edit ]

In January 2026, IGN China released a gameplay trailer for Aemeath,[6] which received more than 6 million views on Bilibili within hours, becoming the channel's third most-viewed video behind only Grand Theft Auto VI and Black Myth: Wukong .[7]

Aemeath has received generally positive reception from both critics and players. Ryuichi Kataoka of Automaton praised characterization and narrative arc of Aemeath. The contrast between her reliable presence in combat and her childish demeanor around Rover, the protagonist in the game, stems from their shared past, as Rover had lived with her as a parent before. Kataoka was also impressed by her habit of covering sadness with a smile and her decision to undergo an irreversible, self-sacrificial journey back in time to protect Lahai-Roi.[8] Satomi Satō described Aemeath as a brave and relatable girl rather than a distant savior.[9] Butwhytho writer Charles Hartford found her ability to change between magical girl and mecha at the press of a button interesting, as well as her songstress abilities and visual effects.[10] However, 148Apps staff Nahda Nabiilah stated that her release was not enough to offset poor optimization of the game, despite describing Aemeath as a gorgeous character.[11] GameRant writer Dominik Bošnjak noted that, even as some players on Reddit complained about technical and performance issues related to the new update, the community expressed a broadly favorable response to her story and presentation.[12]

Commercial performance

[edit ]

After the release of Aemeath, Wuthering Waves briefly reached the top of sales rankings on both Google Play and App Store in Japan, at which point it surpassed competitor Genshin Impact .[13] [14] In addition, it topped IOS revenue charts in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.[7] According to data from AppMagic, her banner during version 3.1 brought in a mobile revenue of 46.3 million USD to Kuro Games.[15]

Collaborations

[edit ]

In July 2026, Kuro Games announced a new collaboration with Samsung, holding a special celebratory event for the upcoming release of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.[16] The voice of Aemeath will be integrated into the virtual assistant Bixby in October 2026.[17]
