Arbitrary modern–pre-modern cutoff

What's the cutoff and rationale for "pre-modern" and "modern"? And why is a player like Steve Van Buren listed under pre-modern and Bruiser Kinard as modern? Lizard (talk) 06:35, 2 August 2016 (UTC) [reply ]
