This template is used by "Year in continent" templates such as {{Year in Europe }} and should not be used directly.
This template can take the following parameters:
{{{1}}}: the year{{{2}}}: the country name as used in article names{{{disp}}}: display name, if the article country name is disambiguated{{{the}}}: text in front of country name in links (usually "the"){{{link}}}: the value of the passed-through country-specific parameter, with a diamond character ("♦") as default value
