Usage
[edit ]To be used to flag broken footnotes with {{broken footnote}}
. For instance
This is a sentence with a working footnote.[1] This is another sentence, this one with a broken footnote.[2] [broken footnote ] This is a third sentence, again with a broken footnote.[3] [broken footnote ]

The cause of the issue can be varies. Often times, it will be due to
- The authors or year are missing/mismatched, or the footnote template is wrongly used. For example,
{{sfn|Smith & Hunter (2010)|p=12}}
should (in most cases) be{{sfn|Smith|Hunter|2010|p=12}}
. The exact syntax varies with the templates used, so some investigation might be required. - The full citation is completely missing
