[edit ]Where is the official proof of Yoshi being a dinosaur? The article calls Yoshi a dinosaur, yet it cites no sources. This despite the fact he has been called a dragon multiple times in the games, including his debut game. Endianer (talk) 21:24, 12 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- The Concept and creation section is pretty well sourced, do you have a reliable source for us to cite for such a change? - Adolphus79 (talk) 23:58, 12 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- The creation section states that one of the inspirations for Yoshi was Tamagon from Miyamoto's game Devil World, who was a green dragon.
- As for a source, we have the games themselves. You have to look no further than the first area in Yoshi's very debut game, Super Mario World. In Yoshi's place "Yoshi's Island" there is a note left by him signed "Super Dragon Yoshi". There are also the coins with Yoshi's face, which are specifically called "Dragon Coins". And you can find similar references in later games. Endianer (talk) 09:59, 13 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Once again, got a reliable source to cite for that? Otherwise, what you're discussing is original research. - Adolphus79 (talk) 14:36, 13 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- I'm not sure what kind of source I'm expected to provide for something that is present in the game itself. A screenshot of the game with the aforementioned note? A scan of an official manual or strategy guide that calls those Dragon Coins? Endianer (talk) 15:16, 13 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- What does WP:RS say? - Adolphus79 (talk) 16:13, 13 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- That the piece of work itself counts as a source. Endianer (talk) 16:41, 13 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Yes, that is the definition of a source, but not of a reliable source. Did you miss the first line of that section that says "Articles should be based on reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. This means that we publish only the analysis, views, and opinions of reliable authors, and not those of Wikipedians, who have read and interpreted primary source material for themselves."? (Bolding my own) Or the next section below what you quoted that defines published? The game itself would be a primary source, not independent, and you reading (or viewing) and interpreting the material for yourself would be original research. We are looking for independent published sources, books, newspaper articles, magazine articles, etc. So far, all you have provided is your word that this is true, do you have anything written and published by someone else to verify this? - Adolphus79 (talk) 15:12, 16 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- This would be a WP:SELFSOURCE and I think it would be fine Jan Imon (talk) 15:48, 29 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. NotJamestack (talk) 08:08, 16 November 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
