What are the sources for the area and population figures?

I have two concerns here. First the stated area is only that within the original walls. Paul MacKendrick, in The Dacian Stones Speak includes a map indicating a much larger "limit of town area outside walls," but does not offer any figures for the area outside the walls. Second, the stated population estimate, given only the area inside the walls, is denser than usual, and given the area outside too, is sparser than usual.
