Social Media Presence

[edit ]

Tyler has shown a penchant for using social media websites like Twitter to engage and interact with his fans, as well as other celebrities[1] . As of March 2012, he has accumulated over 18,000 tweets on his Twitter account and boasts well over 800,000 followers . His account has also been verified by Twitter, which is only done to "establish authenticity of well known accounts so users can trust that a legitimate source is authoring their Tweets"[2] . Tyler has gained notoriety for using social media to post comments and thoughts often construed as offensive or distasteful. In May 2011 he was criticized by the openly gay indie music duo Tegan and Sara in an open letter that accused Tyler of "misogynistic and homophobic ranting and raving" in his music and public comments[3] . He crassly responded to the duo with an inflammatory tweet two days later[4] . Tyler has also engaged in feuds with other celebrities through his Twitter account, notably Chris Brown[5] .

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 13:52, 29 October 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
Didn’t he bring his mom to his first vma appearance? 216.238.180.132 (talk) 20:28, 12 December 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

the T in "The" in his name should be capitalized

[edit ]

It should be Tyler, The Creator with the T in "the" capitalized. His name in the page's title should be adjusted.

I have edited the article text to reflect the capitalization, and I support the changing of the title. However, there are a substantial amount (around 300 I believe) of indirectly linked pages that will have to be edited so as to avoid WP:2R once the title change goes through. —Toothlesswalrus (talk) 03:53, 11 November 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
@Toothlesswalrus: There is a requested move from 2017 in the archives concerning this topic, so I would discourage any changes until there is consensus to overturn the outcome of the 2017 move – please initiate a move request to discuss this if desired. I have undone the changes to the article text in the meantime, to avoid any discrepancies with the article title and related pages. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 01:23, 5 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Since he jokes a lot, I don't think he's the best source for anything lol. Might be more of a stylization thing. CheeseyHead (talk) 03:26, 3 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

What's problem with adding "(early)" to "horrorcore" in the infobox?

[edit ]

Why is it being undone? It seems like a fairly standard change, and other articles for musicians/bands (e.g. Earl Sweatshirt) have "(early)" added to their genres. Seeing as the article itself states that he shifted away from this direction 2013 onward, I don't see the problem with adding this.

this reversion by @BlueboyLINY cited the essay WP:AINTBROKE, which confused me because it seems to be a weird reason to list. DM5 Pedia (ctr) 02:55, 19 February 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
