Attempted suppression
[edit ]I wouldn't say that the attempted suppression united Old English and Gaels as Irish. Faith was the thing, and then, on the basis of faith, came the combined opposition to conformity. - Indeed! They certainly were not completely comfortable as allies, and this in part was what led to the failure of Confederate Ireland, leaving us wide open to attack from Cromwell. Ach sin sceal eile! Fergananim (talk) 15:55, 14 November 2012 (UTC) [reply ]
