This whole article is WAY too detailed and looks straight out of a fan wiki. I don't have time right now to go through it all, but if someone else could, it would be greatly appreciated. Veilure (talk) 05:47, 6 May 2023 (UTC) Reply
I can't even read this. It's a lost cause. get rid of it.
I am quite new to editing on Wikipedia, so I don't feel confident in making these edits myself (before getting at least a second opinion), but I think this article could do with a section on how The Culture has impacted people's vision of the future.
I have noticed a trend of important leaders in Silicon Valley citing the culture as an aspirational goal for how society should be. Whether it be Elon Musk on the Dwarkesh podcast, speaking about how The Culture represents an ideal vision of how AI would impact society, or Dario Amodei (CEO of Anthropic) mentioning something very similar in his essay "machines of loving grace."
I think this is actually very common -- where tech leaders reference The Culture as an example utopia which they state is a goal to achieve.
If I am able to collect a large base of examples similar to the above with credible citations, would this be a suitable addition to this article? ~2026-64437-7 (talk) 00:16, 19 February 2026 (UTC) Reply
