I was trying to track down why TRs start at 2. I suspect "TR1" was LHCGR, though it is also possible that it was AR. Either way, adding a mention in the article will probably require a reference to a review of the history (due to terminology shifts). I’m not sure if that exists yet.

"Testicular Receptor 1" doesn’t give any hits on google scholar, which suggests that that the term was never used explicitly. Looking for the oldest reference to "Testicular Receptor 2," the oldest hit is https://academic.oup.com/ejendo/article-abstract/125/5/563/6769207 where they discuss the "testicular gonadotropin receptor," which is apparently older terminology for LHCGR. This is why my guess is that TR2 was called "2" to distinguish it from the "testicular gonadotropin receptor." Pabnau (talk) 17:00, 8 June 2026 (UTC) Reply
