Merge proposal?

[edit ]

There is a tag on the article page suggesting merging Teilhardina magnoliana with this article. I don't see a discussion or rationale though. Since there seem to have been multiple species within this genus a merge does not seem appropriate, since this article covers the whole genus and the Teilhardina magnoliana article covers that particular species, but other articles should be created for the other species. Merge The WP:Palaeontology guidelines are to cover extinct species within the scope of the genus article (with a few limited exceptions). The reason being that with obscure taxa such as Teilhardina the vast majority of information is the same across all the described species and the genus, with only small differences in discovery location and anatomical detail. --Kev min § 16:29, 31 July 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
