Can anyone remember what happened, with those two business men who brought the club, and were going to demolish gasworks road, but there was a strip of land owned by Ethel or something.

Reply From Hotspur Warrior (Strikerworld): Mr. Bullion-Browne and Mr. Grubbet purchased Warbury with the intention of closing the club down as they only wanted the land Gasworks Road stadium sat on. Their plan was ruined when it was discovered the ground was not owned by the club, but by a very old lady called Ethal. Without the stadium their ownership of the club was pointless in their eyes, and they sold it back to Eric Openshaw at a big loss.

Okay here is a question don't you think it was a bit biased Hotspur Warrior that Warbury came back into the Premiership. I'm not going to read the Striker any more its just to biased.

Reply from Hotspur Warrior: How is it biased? Firstly, bias has nothing to do with it. I think I know what you meant, but it has nothing to do with bias. There's nothing wrong with Warbury being in the Premiership. There are more fans of the Premiership than any other league, so naturally it makes sense for Pete Nash to have them there because more people would read the strip. Warbury have been out of the Premiership for four years, so it isn't as if they're made out to be some super brilliant team.

As for you not reading Striker, I couldn't care less really. In fact, who are you?

Hey HW - have you noticed a curse on the chairmen throughout the Warbury era aswell ?

Reply from Hotspur Warrior: I don't know about a curse, and I don't know about just Warbury. Chairman and authority figures throughout Striker's history haven't had the best of times. One was killed by his own son (Thamesford era), then there was that infamous saga with the Grubbet and Bullion-Browne takeoever, and they ended up losing 9ドルm when their plans were uncovered! And who can forget Eric! Too many incidents to list.

An email from Pete Nash confirmed that the strip ends five weeks from now. Can't cite an email, or the forums I've copied it to, as a source though. The Sun is now refusing to print the Saturday football match strips as a consequence.
