Hi everyone, I have created this page to expand on and update the information already published under CD-adapco. I have of course attempted to write from as neutral position as possible and would look forward to seeing the community help to develop it, or point out flaws! @DrMesh: Don't worry about it! I've added a COI tag because you have disclosed that you work for Siemens PLM Software, it's just a standard precaution to alert other editors. EditQwerty (talk) 19:05, 6 July 2020 (UTC) Reply

@EditQwerty: Thanks! I've added a number of links from other articles which hopefully go some way to addressing the orphan status. Of course I would like to work towards removing the COI status too. Perhaps this is hard to do until other contributors have worked on the article? Would very much welcome discussion with others on what needs to be added/removed to do this. @DrMesh: I will remove the orphan tag and the close connection tag and add a COI tag on the talk page, to disclose your connections. EditQwerty (talk) 09:38, 7 July 2020 (UTC) Reply

Hi DrMesh. I appreciate that you are editing in good faith to try to improve the article. However, given your status as a Paid Editor regarding this topic, I think it is best that the article is tagged until there is significant input from an independent editor. 1292simon, thanks for your note. I understand your reasoning for the paid editor tag, however in my view the content is genuinely encyclopedic and it is not written like an advert - actually the article is only a small expansion on the information that was already published on the CD-adapco entry (the company that originally produced the software and was acquired). Thanks, DrMesh (talk) 08:37, 9 September 2020 (UTC) Reply
DrMesh, despite your positive self-assessment here, you need to trust us; it is difficult to satisfy WP:NPOV when you have a WP:COI. A neutral editor starting from scratch is really the best way to develop articles. I have made some improvements and removed the {{Advert }} tag. It will take further review and development to assure the topic is addressed neutrally. ~Kvng (talk) 15:02, 14 September 2020 (UTC) Reply
Kvng, Of course, that makes sense :) - and I appreciate your help with this. I have reached out to Wikiproject Engineering to encourage other editors to contribute here too.
DrMesh, I believe I was led here by your Wikiproject Engineering message. ~Kvng (talk) 14:48, 17 September 2020 (UTC) Reply
Kvng, I just came back to see how this page has developed since September 2020. I'm pleased to see there have been changes by several other editors to maintain and even enhance the page over the past years. I'm wondering if this has now been sufficiently reviewed and adjusted by the community for the 'close connection' banner to be removed, since I am no longer a main contributor? I note that other comparable pages about commercial software don't have this, just any relevant disclosures on their talk pages like we have here. DrMesh (talk) 13:31, 16 October 2024 (UTC) Reply
