On 25 March 2026, it was proposed that this article be moved to Sikorsky S-58. The result of the discussion was not moved.
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum sadly closed permanently on 1 January 2024, and announced that its aircraft would be moved to North Texas Regional Airport in Denison, Texas, but did not disclose any plan to return the collection to public display.[1] Assuming that this aircraft is technically on permanent loan from the Navy like most other former Navy aircraft that remain in the country, I presume that the Navy won't allow it to be moved to Denison to be stashed in a hangar or left on the ramp; in other words, in the absence of a plan to reopen the Cavanaugh in Denison, I suspect that the Navy will reclaim 150213 and move it elsewhere. If anyone has any verifiable information on the aircraft's fate, please comment or edit the article. Carguychris (talk) 18:21, 4 January 2024 (UTC) Reply
- @Benguttery: Your edit indicates that the aircraft was moved to the FWAM, which is great news, and I believe you, but better citations are needed. The first link doesn't positively identify the individual aircraft or say that it's from the Cavanaugh, and the second link gives me a 404 error. Carguychris (talk) 22:14, 8 January 2024 (UTC) Reply

- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME and Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft/Naming. Of the 22 Wikidata entries H-34 is clearly more commonly used. The redirect from Sikorsky S-58 was established in 2005. Renaming/moving long established aircraft type articles creates multiple problems with Wikidata, categories and navboxes. Official names do not govern WP article titles, though H-34 is the official US DoD designation of the military variant (which this article mostly covers according to the lead section). A solution (that is not workable) is to split the S-58 information into another article, that article would be quickly deleted and merged back here. The second sentence in the Operational History section is incomplete. It just says "The type was internationally and commercially." I assume the next word was meant to be "utilized" or something of that nature. ~2026-25193-26 (talk) 17:16, 25 April 2026 (UTC) Reply
