I have again removed the link

http://melbournecitycouncil.blogspot.com/2006/11/bracks-new-team-announce-ex-melbourne.html | Melbourne City Council commentator Anthony van der Craats' blog article on the new minister.

In my opinion it clearly violates WP:BLP because it is an individual person's blog, it is not verifiable and it appears to contain original research.

WP:BLP states "External links in biographies of living persons must be of high quality and in full compliance with Wikipedia official policies and external links guidelines"

WP:BLP also says "Be very firm about the use of high quality references. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles".

WP:BPL goes on to re-iterate this point: "Material about living persons must be sourced very carefully. Without reliable third-party sources, it will violate the No original research and Verifiability policies, and could lead to libel claims.... Material about living persons available solely in questionable sources or sources of dubious value should be handled with caution..."

In removing this link I am complying with this imperative. The source simply isn't up to scratch. Looking at other articles in the blog it's evident that the author has an axe to grind and some very questionable motives.

I have no problem with the statement "Following the successful re-election of the Bracks Labor Government in Victoria in November 2006, Richard Wynne was appointed by the Premier Steve Bracks to the twin roles of Minister for Housing (following in the footsteps of his mentor Barry Pullen) and Minister for Local Government" and, if true, I'm sure you can find many references to support it in reputable journals or local government publications. Further research - detailed in the sockpuppet case at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/UkraineToday#User:UkraineToday - shows that you and the author of the cited "Melbourne City Council commentator Anthony van der Craats' blog article" are one and the same person. So as well as violated WP:BLP you are self-publicising.82.153.175.147 (talk) 14:49, 19 January 2008 (UTC) [reply ]
