Comments
[edit ]What an extraordinary and fascinating subject, well presented.
- I've fixed a few minor errors of typography and formatting.
- Merci.
- The language is in places somewhat Gallic in style, i.e. perhaps bordering on the flowery rather than the encyclopedic, but not unreasonably so. A little copy-editing would not go amiss.
- I'd drop the "Notable" from the list of 'Pyreneist and Pyrenean mountaineers'; we never list non-notables (and it chimes oddly with the mass of redlinks).
- I agree, thoughts on the use of "Select"?
- Could be ok, if you need to use any word there: or just do without.
- I agree, thoughts on the use of "Select"?
- Please avoid the use of the word "today" as it's a moveable feast. E.g. in 'Contemporary perception'.
- Revised, reworded one, dropped one.
- "defines Pyreneism by positioning it in opposition to" -> "defines it in opposition to"
- "intense and original publishing activity" -> "publishing activity"
- Done, above link.
- "an unquestionable prerequisite" -> "a prerequisite"
- Done, above link.
- "Himalayanism and Andinism" - one a redlink, the other a redirect to Mountaineering which however does not even mention the term. Suggest we remove both links; ideally get the redirect deleted as well (ex GAN).
- "the chain has constituted 'a major space of transport and mobility'" - well, that's the passes, not the chain of summits (as the first sentence of 'History' makes clear); and the quote's wording is excessively Gallic for Wikipedia, suggest we just say "the range's passes have been important for transport" which is all that is meant here.
- Please gloss Carbonnières, de Chausenque, and Russell at first mentions in main text.
- I'll be honest, I didn't 100% know what you mean by gloss, I assumed you meant "give context" (glossary?), so I added what made them notable based on their respective Wiki leads, or biographies if it was solely about the Pyrenees. Please let me know if I missed the mark here.
- Yes, a gloss is just a few words introducing someone or something for those who don't know.

- Replace redlink "Pique Longue" with Pic Long. Obsolete spelling.
Images
[edit ]- All images are on Commons, either PD or plausibly CC-by-SA. They are all suitable for the article.
Sources
[edit ]Sources are all suitable for Wikipedia.
- [24] date should be 1898 in ref
- [52..56] date (2024) is missing in refs
- Done, in above edit.
- Some French titles are missing translations, e.g. [6], [11].
- Done see reference 11, additional references, I think ref 6 has one already.
- I don't have Bordes to hand so AGF there.
Spot-checks:
- [2] ok
- [6] ok
- [14] ok
- [57] ok
- [68] ok
Summary
[edit ]The article is in an excellent state, and I've made no more than the most minor of comments, so I expect to see this at GA very shortly.
