This sounds more like a personal opinion than a wiki article Could have said the same about any political system, why does it pop up on about democracy specifically ? besides, this statement badly lacks argumentation and tangible examples. To me it seems as if an Xth triggered social justice warrior needed a platform to excavate their negative feelings Although it is very true that "democracy does not always mean citizen's wishes to be equally represented", since majority rule could well please a little more than 50% the population and ignore the rest. But arguing the point by the bias of immigration debate, come on ... Plus it reads "immigrants, and racial and ethnic minorities, do not receive the same rights", did you mean in democracies like the US or the UK or any European democratic country ? where discrimination based on race or religion is illegal ? The term Democracy is being misused, It should be swapped with Republic, and a subcategory for Democratic Republic should take its place. A Republic is a form of Government in that a group determines the goals of a state. Republics can be authoritarian and democratic, such as the Peoples' Republic of China - which is a republic, but with an authoritarian dictatorship. A democracy strictly refers to a type of Republic, like the United States of America; which is a Democratic Republic, and not the political identity as a whole.

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Political system's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
