The following question (by Charles Wright 2) has been posted in the article instead of here:

"My late father, born in 1919, said that in his youth he enjoyed a radio show that featured "Phoebe B. Beebe and the New Canoe Canal." Does anyone know anything about this?"

I do not remember a radio show, but when I was in elementary school (in the 1950s) there was a story about this character. Our English teacher read about "Phoebe B.
