I would really like to see Peter's photo posted; and if video files were available of a few moments of his portion (fall term = syllogistic and propositional logic) of the full-year team-taught televised intro phil class, 1966-67, that would be super. The tapes, if they still exist, must be in storage at the U of M somewhere. "The Cognitivity of Moral Judgments", and maybe one other ethics paper, was translated into German, and included in a short anthology published in Germany in the latter 60's too. Would anyone have the publication details? The title was something like "Sitten und Sittlichkeit", I think, but I haven't been able to find it. Karl

I was wondering about the German translation too. He was very proud of that but I've never been able to find the reference. If it were in an anthology, that would likely be why it's hard to find. A tape would be amazing. As serious as he was, his moral theory seminar featured more moments of sheer hilarity than any other class I was ever in. I remember his mentioning having to stop by his mother's apartment and look in on her, as she was ailing. And having to do her shopping and housekeeping for her. He mentioned this quite often, and at times it seemed to preoccupy him. I wonder if he and his mother (camouflaged as Lithuanian) inspired the vignette on pages 134-135 of Miriam Toews's "The Flying Troutmans"?
