I wrote the original version of this article. It containd the words "Peter was that rare creature, the right-wing folk singer". This has been removed, with the comment that this opinion is POV. Is there anyone out there who thinks that it is usual for a folk singer to be right wing? I don't think it's POV at all. Ogg 16:09, 25 November 2006 (UTC) [reply ]

Although it wasn't me who removed that section, I did wonder about it when I did some other edits.For one thing, the current section seems to make a connection between Bellamy being right wing and one of his ancestors having served with Nelson. Maybe the Nelson bit needs to be a separate point in the trivia section. Bluewave 09:29, 26 November 2006 (UTC) [reply ]

I'm not sure that Bellamy was right wing as such, I just think the climate of the folk clubs was generally left wing, and he didn't tend to go with the way that tide was a-flowing! Bellamy's Birthplace-Place of early residence

I have seen elsewhere that PB was born in or lived at WIGHTON in Norfolk. This isn't far from Warham, but does anyone know which it is for sure? Roaringboy (talk) 17:16, 3 November 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

Mr Bellamy was born in Bournemouth,Hampshire (now Dorset). There is no doubt about this - I have checked the births index in the National Archives. Dates of original compositions?

The article states he didn’t record any original music until Barracksroom Ballads in 1975, but Oak Ash and Thorn (1970) is his settings of Kipling poems from children’s books. — crism (talk) 16:57, 27 June 2016 (UTC) [reply ]
