It is of interest to the following WikiProjects:
... "Oyez! Oyez! Oyez!" immediately suggests "town crier" to me. The way this article's written, it's as though the US courtroom usage is the only one that's of any significance, and the town crier usage is just a minor extra. That's very US-centric, so if someone with knowledge of the word's history could do a bit of improvement here it would be great. 20:27, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I agree! the (non public domain) you tube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBbGYd2vCBo mentions two hundred or so towncriers and you see and hear one of them shouting oyez,oyez,oyez.
