Purple heart

the purple heart goes back to 7 August 1782 so claiming that the OoS is the oldest is misleading —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjolnir131 (talkcontribs) 04:48, 20 July 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

The first paragraph explains that this is the oldest civilian award in the Americas. The American "purple heart" is a military decoration -- not a civilian award. Perhaps this clarifies the issue at hand? --Tenmei (talk) 04:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC) [reply ]
