• Add Categories: 1979 in Uganda, 1979 in Tanzania, Military operations involving the PLO.
  • Didn't add 1979 in Tanzania, since it wasn't "in" the country and is covered by the nested category for Uganda-Tanzania War. Others added.

I thought the category means 1979 "in" the history of said country.

Well yes, but that's covered by Category:Uganda-Tanzania War which itself has been placed in the 1979 in Tanzania category. Perhaps its just semantics, I don't care too much, it just seems to me that a battle deep in Ugandan soil by Tanzanian and Ugandan troops fits much better being filed directly under 1979 in Uganda than 1979 in Tanzania (not that the two are mutually exclusive).

That's understandable.

  • Done.

• What does B mean in ref 8?
  • Beats me, but that is how the Africa Contemporary Record numbers some of its pages, with the letter B at the beginning.

• Since you wikilinked Sollihul in Cooper (2015) you can either unlink it or wikilink all the other publishing locations for consistency.
  • Unlinked.

• Translate the book title in Mzirai (1980) into English.
  • I've already tried this before; the result was confusing so I think it is best left as is.

I used Google Translate on the title. Swahili into English and Greek was indeed confusing, yet the Russian translation came out as "The Death of Idi Amin" which seems reasonable.--Catlemur (talk) 19:01, 13 October 2020 (UTC) Reply

• That is does, except all Swahili-to-English translators seem pretty adamant that "Kuzama" translates to "sink" or "immerse [in water]". Also, the book was written in 1980 and Amin wouldn't die for another 20-some years. The author was probably going for something metaphorical in their title, and metaphors are rarely captured well in direct translations. I prefer to leave it. In terms of finding the book one only needs the original title, so the long-form citation does everything to satisfy the principle of WP:Verify.

  • The sources are not clear in this respect. It started at some point after 11 March (when Lukaya was captured) and ended before the Battle of Entebbe on 7 April, as taking Entebbe was a deviation from the Tanzanians' wider preexisting plans for the war thus could not have been a part of the operation as it was conceived. It seems to have wrested primarily on the capture of Mpigi, which was achieved in late March.
