Coda is based on AFS. Are Coda-Features still superior to OpenAFS ? Is Coda still experimental ?



CODA's feature that is superior to AFS is that it can do read-write replication. The CODA folks at CMU have expressly said, "CODA is a research project and will never be fully supported." That said there are people who (allegedly) use it in production and there's an ad-hoc bunch of folk supporting each other.

Of course, the same can be said for running TOPS-20 on your Powerbook. :-)

Why is the kernel driver not in the Linux kernel?
