I don't know about this being in the Hydrocharitaceae -- it doesn't seem to be the most common classification, so it probably shouldn't be in the taxobox, but it is referenced.

The Hydrocharitaceae placement seems to be reasonably common these days, but certainly it was (almost) unheard of until 1997. I've added some references. Kingdon (talk) 01:43, 17 May 2010 (UTC) [reply ]

I was doing research on Najas and noted that the article mentions the genus was discovered by an Emma Boughey, "first discovered by the African adventurer, Emma Boughey." I believe the type species is Najas marina, the genus name is credited to Linne. I can find no other mention of Emma Boughey. All Google searches just show copies of the Wikipedia article. Emma sounds like a woman's name. It would be very interesting to find a woman that was discovering new plants in Africa at the time of Linne. I find it very odd that there is no other mention of such a person anywhere. I checked the contributors list to find out who made the addition of the name. It seems to have been added here: 10:09, 23 May 2009 194.70.149.82 (talk) (1,754 bytes) (undo). I checked the user page and the user talk page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:194.70.149.82. It did not make me feel more confident about this being the person who found these plants.
