This page reads like (and probably is) a verbatim copy of a document, such as the actual charter (or similar published output) of the Nagoya Protocol. It's not particularly comprehensible to non-domain experts. I'm not quite sure what flags to stick on it, other than the ones like "this article could really use some help". (About the only problem I'm pretty sure does NOT apply is NPOV - seems OK there. :-) It's not an encyclopedia-type entry and it's not particularly helpful -- a really good starter point would be a concise, thoughtful intro w/ definition, domain, scope, and/or summary, etc. (I hope my contribution here is helpful; sorry if I'm off-base and please don't flame me (ducks). :-) A Doon (talk) 20:53, 20 January 2015 (UTC) Reply

The text for this article was moved by me from the section on the protocol in the article on Convention on Biological Diversity. Good Ol’factory (talk) 08:44, 22 January 2015 (UTC) Reply

Relevance of a reference about concerns

It seems to me that current reference number 4 ("A plea for open science on Zika") should not be included to support concerns about this protocol. It looks like it is referring to laws which existed in Brazil before the protocol was signed. In fact, the reference further links to another source which seems to say that then president of Brazil had signed a law in 2015 to revert this difficulties, and it looks as if this law was in fact following the protocol. User:RAMRashan, you included this reference. Do you have anything to add? Thanks Diegodlh (talk) 14:26, 12 June 2019 (UTC) Reply

Brazil ratified the agreement through Decreto Legislativo 136/2020

Criticism

The criticism section is very one-sided, only focussing on the position of reseachers and not the one of the countries of origin who most of the time do not get their share of the benefit as it should be according to the protocol and CBD. Barolome (talk) 11:46, 4 July 2024 (UTC) Reply
