Munoo was his nick name from childhood he was youngest among all the 6 brothers. He played hockey from his childhood from Pakistan Gymkhana a hockey club the attractive yellow shirt and white short was his love Akhtat ali khan managed the team and also coached it. Islauudin, Iftikar Syed ( PERVAIZ) were the other two who also became world famous hockey players from the same club at PIB COLONY KARACHI FAMOUS full back ASGHAR ALI KHAN ELDER BROTHER OF AKHTAR ALI KHAN COACHED MUNOO. ALL OF THEM SPOTTED THE TALENT IN HIM AND TRAINED HIM. THE OTHER OLYMPION WHO HELPED HIM WERE HABIB UR REHMAN CONSIDER AS THE FATHER OF HOCKEY AN EXCELLENT PLAYER EQUALLY FAMOUS AS DYHAN CHAND OF INDIA. HE PLAYED FOR BOHAPAL WANDERS BEFORE PARTITION IN 1947 WHEN PAKISTAN CAME INTO BEING. WAHAEED THE FAMOUS CENTRE FORWARD OF PAKISTAN TEAM ALSO HAD A HAND IN COACHING MUNOO. ELDER BROTHER OF TANVERR DAR NAMED MUNIR DAR ANOTHER ICON OF HOCKEY WHEN MUNOO WAS BEING TRAINED TARGET FOR HIM WAS TO BECOME BETTER PLAYER OR FULL BACK THAN MUNIR DAR. MUNOO CAME UP TO THE EXPECTATION OF ALL. HE DIED AT AN EARLY AGE COULD NOT PRODUCED HIS SUCESSOR WHICH WAS ON HIS MIND. i also played from the same club me, munoo and islauddin were slected at the same time for hockey camp at ABOTTBAD HILL STATION AT THAT TIME I WAS IN PAKISTAN MILATARY ACADEMY KAKUL. PERHAPS GENERAL ASGHAR WAS MANAGING THE TEAM AFTER A SHOW MATCH BETWEEN PAKISTAN A AND PAKISTAN B HE CAME TO US AND WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE US TOGAHTER REMARED PAKISTAN HOCKEY HAS A GOOD FUTURE. WE WERE SLECTED TO GO KEENYA BUT 1971 WAR BROKE AND WE DRIFTED APART FROM THE HOCKEY FIELD MY FATHER DIED AND I SAID BYE BYE TO SPORTS AND PURSED MY MILITARY CARRER.
