Controversy

I think Christians have fewer problems with the fictional cosmology of this book (Tolkien did fictional cosmology), than with the moral relativism and romantization of evil characters that seem to underpin the whole Rice vampire series. The article should cite a representative Christian source before portraying Christians as critical of this book in particular. (Of course, the choice of a "representative Christian source" is likely to generate controversy in itself, but if the editor of the article wants to keep in "Christians condemn 'Memnoch' as heretical", at least be specific about who says so so that readers can judge for themselves whether or not the opinion is representative of Christianity.) -- Meyer 03:11, 17 October 2006 (UTC) [reply ]

I agree with Meyer, since the term Christianity is really broad so clarification and citation is a must. Also wanted to say WOW - the author of this article's opinion of how the reinterpretation of biblical stories fitting in with the setting of these books is really true! I think it is simply a flawed novel by a woman whose theology is incomplete and in transition. Witness her transition from lifelong Catholicism to Jewish mysticism as supportive of my premise. Many of her tenants regarding the true historic fundamentals of the Christian Faith are shallow or incomplete and serve her primarily as plot devices and perhaps are representative of her personal struggles with her own eschatology. Lestat's Coma

Regarding: "It is later stated that during Lestat's coma, he is actually outside of his body. During which, he is forced into labor by angelic beings (stated in Blackwood Farm)."

Should this be included in the synopsis? It doesn't have any extra value regarding the book - it has to do with Blackwood Farm and Lestat. I think it should be removed.
