Old talk
[edit ]I've read Novel Cocaine, and in no way was Marc Levi suggested, let alone confirmed as the writer. If fact, I've read no suggestion anywhere that Marc Levi or anyone was the proven author. Either a source should be provided, or M. Ageyev should be put down as a pseudonym of an unknown writer, surely? In fact, http://www.libraries.psu.edu/nabokov/vncrit8.htm suggests an interesting basis on which to judge this.
My Russian edition of 'Cocaine Romance' (a better tranlsation though the word 'roman' in Russian is used ingenuously, suggesting both 'romance' and 'novel')published by 'Russkie klassiki' (1995) has an introduction by Mishel' Parfenov, which defintely mentions Marc Levi as a possible author of this book.
