- The result of this discussion was to not merge. RES2773RES2773 (talk) 23:22, 19 July 2015 (UTC) [reply ]
I propose that Wellwood Cemetery be merged into Long Island National Cemetery. I think that the wellwood cemetery is not significant enough for its own page, but it could fit well here. RES2773 (talk) 00:58, 13 June 2015 (UTC)RES2773[reply ]
- Long Island National Cemetery is a national cemetery, containing primarily the graves of American soldiers. I see no connection whatsoever between Long Island National Cemetery and Wellwood Cemetery and strongly oppose any merger between the two.--EditorExtraordinaire (talk) 02:13, 13 June 2015 (UTC) [reply ]
- Absolutely not. This Wellwood Cemetery is quite distinct. One road, Long Island Avenue, the Wellwood Cemetery Association, The Colonial Springs Golf Club and the Beth Moses Cemetery all lie between it and National Cemetery, (BTW: The pin-point marker for the Wellwood Cemetery on the Find a Grave cemetery map page is accurate; e.g., the Google Maps page provided by Find a Grave match labeled plot map (image number 4)). As for notability, the burials of the Rosenbergs suffice. – S. Rich (talk) 00:14, 14 June 2015 (UTC) [reply ]
- If it is "quite distinct" then it should be able to stand alone on its own merit. --Wapiti (talk) 21:46, 14 June 2015 (UTC) [reply ]
- Strongly oppose. I don't see how it would be appropriate to merge an article about a privately owned cemetery into one about a national cemetery. How are these two even connected?!? I would only reconsider if shown an example of another article about a national cemetery that includes nearby privately owned ones. Elizabeth Linden Rahway (talk) 14:49, 15 June 2015 (UTC) [reply ]
