Money won't die
[edit ]Deutsche Bank recently refused to pay a 800mio euro restitution to Kirch's widow over that old credit ousting scandal, even though a german court recommended a deal of 775 mio euros two years ago. DB's CEO made the vocal deal with the widow in Nov 2011, but the DB board suddenly refused to put it in writing last week. Some analysts say, DB could be liable to up to 3.2bn euros and a humiliating apology if the case goes back to court. 213.163.26.138 (talk) 09:45, 2 March 2012 (UTC) [reply ]
This former German has this to contribute:
- Many journalists or other people have been wondering why Leo Kirch's companies had the monopoly on licensing Hollywood movies to German TV channels.
- I remember an article (I think in Spiegel) that some people from a TV station even travelled to Hollywood to acquire some rights. They might have been thinking they could save some money going direct. Wherever they went, everybody said they could only work through the Kirch companies.
!! In the articles it was made to look like Kirch's acquisition of a movie in Italy entitled him to represent all copyrights from Hollywood. I never believed that after my experiences in the arts would say that was BS. A camerman from one of the TV stations we knew privately, even mentioned it as if this was fact but by that time I stopped saying something. Kirch's monopoly can only be interpreted as a so far unknown cabal. Maybe DB had some knowledge how he really acquired and held it.
