Climate data and sources

[edit ]

I have realized that some things related to the table of climate data could be wrong. Firstly, the daily mean temperature written is much lower than the mean of the average high and the average low, especially in summer. It could be correct, because it is not contradictory with the definition of daily mean temperature (http://glossary.ametsoc.org/wiki/Mean_daily_temperature), but quite improbable. Besides, the first source given is not precise, since temperatures are given in integer degrees Celsius, and the values given in the table are different from both sources given at the bottom of the table. I suggest to delete the first source and to write the values of the second source in the table, if a better source is not found. Another alternative climate source I have found is the webpage www.weatheronline.co.uk when using the Climate Robot option. The only thing to decide would be the time period to consider for calculating the average temperatures. For instance, this is the URL link for the last 30 year period: https://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?LANG=en&PLZ=_____&PLZN=_____&WMO=40582&CONT=asie&R=160&LEVEL=162&REGION=0023&LAND=KW&MOD=tab&ART=TMN&NOREGION=1&FMM=1&FYY=1990&LMM=12&LYY=2019

1938 Majlis movement

[edit ]

In this section two sources are used <ref name="fkm">"Mechanisms of Western Domination: A Short History of Iraq and Kuwait", California State University, Northridge, talking about how in 1930s Kuwaitis wanted to be part of Iraq. It was written by Professor David Klein, and the only Professor David Klein in California State University, Northridge is a mathematician? who has nothing to do with history or politics? and him mentioning that Kuwaitis wanted to join Iraq is very vague and he didn't provide sources to back it up? ignoring the fact that this claim might be a Ba'ath/Iraqi propaganda to claim that Kuwait is part of Iraq? and the "Free Kuwait movement" was a propaganda campaign that was published in Iraqi news papers. Dalal 1999 (talk) 13:12, 4 Aug 2021

The 1938 Kuwaiti Majlis Movement is widely documented and substantiated by many reliable sources. The events of the Legislative Council are well established by both primary sources and secondary sources. All encyclopedic content on Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), which means representing fairly, proportionately, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic. History is open to interpretation and just because you don't like it doesn't make it "Iraqi propaganda", as Dr. Talal Al Rashoud already confirmed the events of the 1938 Kuwaiti Majlis Movement and Legislative Council. California State University, Northridge is a reliable source. In the section, the first source is California State University, Northridge's official website, look at the URL: http://www.csun.edu/~vcmth00m/iraqkuwait.html and the same source has been cited by various other sources, such as: this book. Jill Crystal's book essentially says the same thing. Talal Al Rashoud's PhD thesis essentially says the same thing.

I am not denying that the events ever happened I'm simply saying that the reason for the uprising was not to join Iraq, Khaled Al-Adasani (خالد العدساني) he was a Kuwaiti politician and a diplomats, and was one of the people that participated in the uprising he wrote a book about it providing documents denying that the movement was to join Iraq, king Ghazi of Iraq simply took advantage of the situation and fabricated letters that "asked" to join Iraq making it seem it was sent from the Kuwaiti youth, Khaled then sent a letter to the Baghdad radio station saying that the letters are fabricated, he provided all the documents and letters in his book:(نصف عام للحكم النيابي في الكويت) published in 1947. And you failed to mention that in Jill crystal book in page 52 last two paragraphs she confirms Iraqs interest in Kuwait and that Iraq took advantage of the situation especially after the discovery of oil in Kuwait, and she also mentions that the Iraqi media published anti-Kuwait propaganda in news papers and podcast page 53, so yes it is Iraqi propaganda, please read page 52 and 53 Jill Crystal's book. Also, in Talal Al Rashoud's PhD thesis. from page 125 to 136 where he mentions the 1938 Majlis movement he never mentioned that the reason of the movement was to join Iraq, he simply mentioned that the Iraqi media took advantage of the situation and that the movement was simply "demanding parliamentary rule" read it carefully before you make any assumptions. And, when you said "just because you don't like it doesn't make it Iraqi propaganda" it's not about wether I like it or not it's about fabricating the truth and only showing one point of view or one side of the story. West Asia

[edit ]

I think it would be better to change from "country in the Middle East" to "country in West Asia". Votbek (talk) 06:20, 21 January 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

Should we add to this article parts about the KERP? I feel it is important considering the amount of UXOs and the results of the 1991 and 2003 gulf wars. CormacGallagher (talk) 16:38, 27 September 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

The emblem that is shown on the wikipedia article is different to the design released by the government of Kuwait. Perhaps it needs to be changed to the correct emblem. Ahmad.alq80 (talk) 14:14, 19 November 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
