Re: Guideline for magazine cover photograph

[edit ]

Shortcut: WP:NFC#UULP. Quote from content guideline: ... for some retired or disbanded groups, or retired individuals whose notability rests in large part on their earlier visual appearance, a new picture may not serve the same purpose as an image taken during their career, in which case the use would be acceptable. This is a noted exception, considering that Ms Joanna Pacuła is now 56 years old and cannot play the kind of film roles discussed in this article. Born???

[edit ]

The article has two different birthdates; born 30 December 1957 and one in January.

Which is it? IMBD says January

Birth Date

[edit ]

I, too, am confused. The article in question clearly quotes her stating that "I am born 30 December, so I am always close to beginnings" (not quite verbatim). I can see the easy confusion that someone made along the way:

  • 12/30 = The day before New Year's Eve.
  • 01/02 = The day after New Year's Day.

Either way you look at it, it's one apart from a major calendar date, and the same astrological sign. Seems as though several sites around the web have stuck to the article's reference or other places that cited it, while others have stuck to IMDb. In any event, IMO, the article has a journalist literally quoting the actress herself. That is the most reliable source we can possibly have, don't you think? Therefore, we should be listing her birthday as December 30th, not January 2nd, unless somebody can find another source proving otherwise. --Cinemaniac86 Talk Stalk 11:12, 6 January 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

Addendum:I translated the 2nd Polish article. It states that her birth year is 1957. Wish it confirmed the month/day.
But that's okay, because the math verifies everything. Article #1, the Montreal written by Gefen article, was published on December 4, 1984. That article states that she was 26 years old at the time of writing. 26 on Dec. 4th. Deduct the age from the year, and that would mean if she turned 26 on Jan. 2nd of 1984, she must have been born in 1958. Therefore, that is invalid.
However, because she is 26 years old on December 4th of 1984, and she states her date of birth is December 30th—and we know from the Polish article she was born in 1957—then she would have turned 27 on 12/30/1984, thereby proving her birthdate to be 12/30/1957. Ta-da!
