Additionally - when Irena Grafenauer's health problems were identified, and she became aware of then poor awareness about the problem (and maybe 50 registered potential bone marrow donors) in Slovenia, she acted on that.^[2] Between instigating additional registrations to about 4000 registered donors (which included informal meeting of several hundred of relatives), she also thorughly investigated her ancestors and relatives, because there probabililty of compatible donor was higher than in general population.

She didn't publish the results, but she confirmed Ivan, Michael Grafenauer's first child, was pre-legitimate (before his father and mother married). There was a custom in that part of Carinthia to be obliged to have a child before marriage, supposedly to make sure the couple is fertile and so that there would be heirs for the land owners, but I didn't find the sources describing that again (can't remember neither author nor title of the publication).
