- She's a journalist. Who cares about her political affiliation? That shouldn't matter. 2600:1700:BC01:9B0:5CCB:6297:D54A:590E (talk) 21:16, 21 July 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

New NEWS today, for future editing
[edit ]Harris Faulkner is all over the news today; where's her picture?
Headline-1: Harris Faulkner considered rising star at Fox
QUOTE: "Harris Faulkner‘s hobby may sound like a patriotic put-on, but the Fox News Channel anchor insists it’s legit. "The thing that I really love to do, that I now only do in the shower, is to sing the national anthem," said Faulkner, a regular on Fox’s daytime show "Outnumbered." While you clear that image of a shower gel bottle doubling as a hand-held mic, know that Faulkner belted out "The Star Spangled Banner" in public before Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota TimberWolves games. She sang it so much in the newsroom at a Kansas City television station that a colleague secretly arranged her public debut. Faulkner, 49, is considered a rising star at Fox News after a decade there. Besides "Outnumbered," which just celebrated its first full year on the air, she regularly works six-day weeks by anchoring a Sunday evening newscast. "She’s a go-to person around here," said Jay Wallace, Fox’s senior vice president of news. Her energy and willingness to put in the extra work has endeared her to management, he said." -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 13:56, 11 May 2015 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing.[reply ]
Headline-2: At Fox News Channel, Harris Faulkner Has a Growing Presence
QUOTE: "Faulkner may not be what viewers typically expect on their TV screen. "I challenge you to go and turn on the other cable networks to find a face like mine in primetime," says the correspondent of female African-Americans hosting evening programs. Yet her presence at the network is very deliberate. "I chose Harris for these roles because she’s an excellent journalist with a distinct ability to handle breaking news on the ‘Fox Report’ and seamlessly transition to an issue-driven talk show like ‘Outnumbered,’" said Roger Ailes, Fox News’ chairman and chief executive, via email. "Her dedication to the news product and dynamic presence have become a key part of the network" -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 14:02, 11 May 2015 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for additional future editing.[reply ]
Mother
[edit ]Who is/was Harris Faulkner's mother? The article identifies her father, but has no mention of her mother. SMP0328. (talk) 22:01, 12 June 2018 (UTC) [reply ]
- There aren't any reputable sources that give any information. As such, it shouldn't be included until they exist and it's relevant. GauchoDude (talk) 15:37, 14 June 2018 (UTC) [reply ]
- Harris posted on her Facebook and Instagram accounts about her mother's name (Shirley Harris) and her passing date (November 21, 2016).Dogru144 (talk) 15:38, 19 October 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
Amelia Earhart Pioneering Lifetime Achievement Award
[edit ]"In 1998 she was awarded the Amelia Earhart Pioneering Lifetime Achievement Award for her humanitarian efforts." What is this award? I can't find anything. What humanitarian efforts? Award-worthy humanitarian efforts should probably be mentioned in the article. Ggpur (talk) 14:27, 3 March 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

False Information on Emmy Awards
[edit ]It appears clear that Ms. Faulkner has been exaggerating her resume for years.
The article claims: She has received six Emmy Awards,[6] including the 2005 Upper Midwest Emmy Awards for Best Newscaster (nominee) and Best News Special (recipient). First, "receiving" an Award does not include being the "nominee". Nominees do not receive awards. Furthermore, she has not received six Emmy Awards. That is factually inaccurate and misleading. For one, she has only ever been nominated for a REGIONAL Emmy award, so it should clarify that. She has not been nominated or won any national or primetime Emmys from the national association. Only the "Upper Midwest" chapter has given her an award in which she was up for the award against other newscasters in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas. So first change should be to denominate it as "regional Emmy Awards" Second, the count is false. She won in 2001 for News Anchor in the Upper Midwest Region: https://midwestemmys.org/old/emmy-awards-archives/2001-emmy-awards-nominees-recipients/
In 2002, she got a regional Emmy Award along with 11 members for KSTP-TV for running in the 10th Annual Race for Cure charitable race. Not sure that makes one an Emmy award winning journalist. https://midwestemmys.org/old/emmy-awards-archives/2002-emmy-awards-nominees-recipients/ However in that year she also tied with Jordana Green to receive an award for News Anchor.
In 2003, she was nominated but did not win the "Spot News" award for coverage of Senator Wellstone's death, along with 22 members of her station all nominated, but not winning. Along with 20 other members of her station, they co-received an award for Eyewitness at 10 for newscast.
In 2004, she was nominated but did not win for News Anchor. https://midwestemmys.org/old/emmy-awards-archives/2004-emmy-awards-nominees-recipients/
She didn't win any other awards that I can find. In 2005 she went to Fox News and hasn't won anything since then.
So that's 2 regional Emmys for News Anchor. 2 regional Emmys for her Station which she co-shared, one of which was for running a charity race.
That's charitably 4 regional Emmys.
It later says 'While at ABC's St. Paul affiliate KSTP, Faulkner received four regional Emmy Awards, including Best Anchor three years in a row (2002, 2003, and 2004)" That is false. She did NOT win an award for News Anchor in 2004. In 2004, KMSP-TV's Jeff Passolt got the Best Anchor. Faulkner did not receive an award that year. That should be deleted.
Oh, not that it matters it also says she won something called: Amelia Earhart Pioneering Lifetime Achievement Award. Only problem is that the only reference to any such award existing is in bios about Harris Faulkner. Nowhere does it say who awarded this alleged honor. I think it's likely she just made it up. Regardless without verification, it should be stricken.
