A fact from GameChat appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 21 February 2026 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that GameChat was inspired by Nintendo developers' frustrations over video-conferencing software during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Date, size, spotchecks (copyvio, etc.) don't reveal any problems. Hook is reasonably interesting, perhaps others could be considered but it will do (at least for me). If I were to suggest alt hook, I found it interesting that there are consoles with buttons dedicated to launching this app (ping User:EvanTech10 in case they want to throw ALT2 here). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here02:49, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I feel like the video conferencing software part might be more interesting in my opinion, because it is what inspired GameChat in the first place, and buttons to launch applications are done before (ie: the Copilot key on most modern Windows devices). Right now I'm debating what to use, the one mentioning screen sharing (ALT1) or the one not (ALT0). What do you suggest? EvanTech10 (talk) 03:02, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
