  • Is it really a gag, if you put a cloth over your nose and mouth? Surely it's more like an improvised filter, or breathing mask? You can buy face masks and refill cloths at any hardware store, but I have never heard of them being called "gags". -- Karada 18:15, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • I heard such cloth filters being called "gags", in Catalyst, which is a chemical industry museum in Runcorn in Cheshire in England. And in my street I once saw a man OTM-gagged spray-painting his car: it indeed acted as a gag when he tried to talk to me while wearing it, as well as filtering out the paint spray. These were not a purpose-made filter, merely a cloth over the mouth as in crime comics. Anthony Appleyard 22:25, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Ironically enough, a scarf gag was used in Disney's Aladdin.. (SPOILER ALERT) It was when Aladdin was captured by the palace guards at Jafar's behest, then thrown into a large body of water(not sure if it was a lake, sea, or ocean). The information is superflous though, and unecessary to the article.--Vercalos 01:32, 24 February 2006 (UTC) [reply ]

How common is gagging by criminals?

[edit ]

How do you know? Are they in depth statistics?Amandalu862 (talk) 12:25, 12 March 2011 (UTC) [reply ]

'Famous'?

[edit ]
'Some famous examples are:'

How 'famous' actually are these? This reads more like a list of films which just happen to contain someone being gagged; unless the gagging makes for a major and unusual plot device in the film (not just 'So-and-so was tied up and gagged so that he wasn't able to speak') then I don't think it should be included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.70.156.254 (talk) 18:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC) [reply ]

I agree completely. Much of the list is uncited, and most are not notable (as far as this topic is concerned). The list meets several criteria of WP:LISTCRUFT, so it's gone. HalJor (talk) 19:53, 16 January 2011 (UTC) [reply ]

If you find the image of a woman wearing a gag sexual in nature then that's up to you - but with regard to Wikipedia; there's an entire policy surrounding this - Wikipedia is not censored. Chaheel Riens (talk) 09:58, 30 June 2016 (UTC) [reply ]

Less explicit image?

[edit ]

We already have a separate page for gags in bdsm context. I feel like there are better photos that could be used for this page that aren’t sexual. A. Rosenberg (talk) 21:02, 18 December 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

tape is not an effective gag

[edit ]

it can be easily broken free of by breathing out or licking the edges of the tape. 2601:647:6381:5E60:CD01:E9F0:FC55:9765 (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
