- no decent pictures of the property today
- the page design looks terrible. The Intro is wedged between images.

- Thanks for your comments. I added a better pic of the front. I've also added some more text and taken out some images to redress the balance. 1814 or 1803

Is that right? Lord Mount Stuart succeeded to the Bute title in 1814 (from his paternal grandfather) but already had the earldom of Dumfries from 1803 (from his maternal grandfather), so who had the house between those dates? —Tamfang (talk) 20:33, 20 October 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

Financial Aspects Don't Add Up
[edit ]The property was purchased for 45 million pounds while the furnishings auction would have raised that much and probably more. Then there is the house and grounds purportedly worth another 45 million. What other incentives convinced the owner to sell leaving many millions on the table? Massive tax breaks perhaps?
