Surgery

[edit ]

The surgery that was intended to prolong his life was actually on his liver and kidneys, not his lungs. (86.135.242.1 (talk) 22:36, 21 May 2019 (UTC))[reply ]

I did some research on this topic but couldn't find any reliable source to back up your statement. Can you provide a reliable source to support the claim about the nature of Dean Martin's surgery? Schnitzelking (talk) 07:41, 13 August 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

Television section needs reformatting

[edit ]

Could anyone please tell me how to fix the "1975", "1980", and "1982" parts of this section?--Thylacine24 (talk) 01:23, 18 December 2021 (UTC) [reply ]

Picture caption may be incorrect

[edit ]

The caption under the picture of the Rat Pack may be incorrect. I think this picture was taken in front of the Sands casino in Las Vegas, not the Cal-Neva casino. Bunkyray5 (talk) 02:16, 2 May 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

I've conducted further research regarding the location in the Rat Pack photo. I can confirm it's the Sands casino based on this image. Schnitzelking (talk) 07:36, 13 August 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

Query about Dean Martin's Sibling

[edit ]

The current article states that Dean Martin had a brother, but this claim is tagged with a 'citation needed' note.

I have attempted to verify this information independently but have been unable to find any reliable sources that confirm Dean Martin had a sibling. In fact, all I could find about this topic is this article on Wikipedia and other pages which just display the content from this article. Considering this, I'm wondering whether this information should remain in the article without proper citation or if it would be more accurate to remove it until a reliable source can be provided.

I'd appreciate the community's thoughts on this matter.

The citation needed tag has been there for twelve months. Between that duration and your attempts to verify, it would be safe to remove that challenged statement.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 20:04, 25 July 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
Thank you for your prompt response and guidance on this matter. Based on our discussion and the lack of reliable sources, I have already proceeded with removing the statement about Dean Martin's brother from the article. I appreciate your help in ensuring the accuracy of this article. Best, Schnitzelking (talk) 20:19, 25 July 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
@Schnitzelking Just wanted to note that I have re-added the information about his brother alongside citations with page numbers from biographies (namely Tosche and Schoell) that have referenced his brother. UpdatedAutopsyReport (talk) 14:15, 9 January 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Early life paragraph confusion

[edit ]

The first paragraph seems to segue awkwardly from a sentence that refers to Martin's mother's father to another sentence that seems to refer to Martin's childhood. I think that the following sentence should begin with a reference to Martin, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about his childhood to feel qualified to do it. Conflicting Information

[edit ]

Someone needs to edit this post. The marriage dates at the top do not correlate to the ones at the bottom under the sub heading "Personal Life " I do not have the time to research the correct info right now, but maybe I can come back later to make changes. "Spoke no English before five"

[edit ]

That Martin spoke no English prior to age five is a widely-circulated story, but it's hard to know if it's accurate or entertainment industry lore. It's certainly true that he grew up in a predominantly Italian-speaking household, but I can find no credible textual source for the more specific claim. His daughter Deana says that "he spoke predominantly Italian" until he began school, but this was a social media post. Are there any reliable sources on the topic? I couldn't find any, although I don't claim to have done an exhaustive search. -- Rrburke (talk) 12:30, 19 December 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
