Confliciting coordinates

[edit ]

This article had 2 sets of coordinates. One displayed in the title, from a 'coords' entry at the bottom of the source file, and another displayed in the Infobox. Checking the text about the items surrounding the lake I believe the one in the Infobox is the correct one so I have kep that, removed the other, and displayed the Infobox one in both areas.

The 'spurious' coordintates (27.8980795°N 81.9232827°W) were pointing to another 'Bonny Lake', also in Polk county, that can also be found in the gnis database under id 279244 U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Bonny Lake (Florida) that is smaller but still significant. Perhaps another article on that other lake should be created? MWchat (talk) 17:26, 13 September 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

MWchat, couldn't follow your link, are you talking about this lake in Lake Wales, Florida? It's actually Lake Bonnie. Along with Little Lake Bonny, there are three of these in Polk County. Very confusing. I'd like to see it have an article, but I'm not likely to find the time myself.Jacona (talk) 19:56, 13 September 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

Jacona, apologies about the link I have now corrected it. (I put an extra 9 in by mistake.) - MWchat (talk) 08:22, 20 October 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
