Group of young players acquired by Cherington
[edit ]I was reading Cherington's page, and I don't know that the sentence as written here is really accurate. Of the players that contributed to the 2018 championship, only Holt and Rodriguez were acquired by Cherington, with Betts, Bogaerts, and Vazquez all signed by Boston's previous regime. If Cherington has to get any credit for 2018, those names should be swapped out for Rafael Devers and Andrew Benintendi: two players that Cherington did sign during his tenure as Red Sox GM.
