Fair use rationale for Image:Bartell.gif

[edit ]

Image:Bartell.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

HQ moving from Georgetown to West Seattle in October 2012

[edit ]

Headquarters has been 4727 Denver Avenue S. in Georgetown, Seattle since 1990.[1]. Will be moving to West Seattle Corporate Center at 4025 Delridge Way S.W. in West Seattle in October 2012.[2] Might want current photos of office? Or at least one contemporary photo of what a typical store looks like today, to complement the one from 1965. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 04:55, 31 August 2012 (UTC) [reply ]

Early stores not adding up . . .

[edit ]

The discussion of the early stores isn't logical. From what I read there:

First store: ". . . the Lake Washington Pharmacy at 2711 South Jackson Street in Seattle's Central District."

Second store: ". . . a second store was opened in 1898 in Downtown Seattle at 506 Second Ave."

Third store: ". . . George H. Bartell Sr. opened another store at 610 Second Ave in 1904."

Fourth store: "His third [sic] store was opened four years later in 1908 in front of Pike Place Market."

Also: "In 1911 he closed the downtown store which was opened three years earlier at 506 Second Avenue." But this store (number two) is stated to have opened in 1898, not "three years earlier" than 1911, which would be 1908.

Also: What brought me to this page was seeing a photograph of in a locally published (Seattle area) book of a bottle of Bartell's "medicinal whiskey" (Prohibition era) from 1933, clearly labeled "BARTELL DRUG STORE NO. 4, 2225 Market St." (which is in the Ballard area of Seattle).
