I seriously doubt the wisdom of including any tallies associated with the journalist Gordon Thomas. Some years ago, when an Irish bishop, Eamon Casey fled the country after revelations of an affair with a divorceé, Thomas supposedly tracked him down and published an exclusive interview with him in the Sunday Independent. It subsequently turned out that the paper had been duped and Thomas had made it all up. A legal case followed. Frankly after that experience if Gordon Thomas told me the time of day I would ask for a second opinion, as I don't believe a word he says, and I don't believe a word he writes. Perhaps when it came to the conclave he did actually do the research rather than make it up, but after the Eamon Casey debaclé I don't think we should trust anything he writes. He lied about an "exclusive interview". He is a proven liar and cannot be trusted. FearÉIREANN 01:08, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I agree. Several tallies are presented. Add a further qualification to Thomas, but the info should not be removed. Since Luis E. is presumably correct that the information is accurately presented, and since there has been no ongoing effort to improve the accuracy, I'm going to remove the Disputed tag. I do not have access to that source. However, it seems to me that the vote elected a pope, the pope refused, asking for a unanimous vote before accepting. Under "Proceedings and balloing", I find "To accommodate the electors, the traditional canopied thrones were replaced with twelve long tables." I do not understand "twelve long tables". It used to be that each chair (throne) had a canopy extending from its top (and when there was a new pope, all canopies except that of the new pope were lowered), but now the canopies had to be removed and a second row of chairs added because of the much larger number of cardinal electors.
