New Editor in Istanbul: Genes, Environment and Behavior course assignment

[edit ]

Hello, I'm a student at USKUDAR UNIVERSITY in Istanbul/Turkey, I'm Improving this article for my genes, environment and behavior course assignment for spring semester 2022/2023. Hope I can improve it in a beneficial way. Alaa Ali M (talk) 12:33, 28 December 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

@Alaa Ali M: Great! Please don't add citations to the lead per MOS:LEADCITE that are not absolutely necessary; try to to find a spot for them in the body. If you are going to make significant content changes (such as additions), make them to the body first, and only then make the needed adjustments in the lead, because the lead is not independent from the article body, but is merely a summary. Thanks —Alalch E. 13:25, 28 December 2022 (UTC) [reply ]
sure, thanks for the advice. Alaa Ali M (talk) 13:31, 28 December 2022 (UTC) [reply ]

Undergraduate Editor from Johns Hopkins University

Hoping to add some citations, improve the lead section, add a sports/competitive anxiety section to the "Types" heading with appropriate citations, grammar, etc, and re-organize and streamline the entire "Types" sub-section.

I read the comments above and will not add content to the lead section unless absolutely necessary. However, I will look to see if there are any improvements into organization or grammar that can be made. :) HuKnows (talk) 21:59, 29 March 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

POV problems

This article is WP:UNBALANCED because it spends too much time talking about Anxiety disorders and too little time talking about the ordinary, functional, protective emotion of anxiety. WhatamIdoing (talk) 16:49, 10 August 2024 (UTC) [reply ]

I looked at this article after seeing The New York Times quoting "Lisa Damour, a leading adolescent psychologist, author and speaker who served as a consultant on the second film" as saying "I cannot tell you how common it is for kids or parents to come to me saying, in a fearful voice, 'I think I have anxiety,' and how frequently I need to say, well, of course you do. It’s how you’ve survived to this point." The idea that everyone has anxiety, and that this is a good thing, is not showing up in this article. The overall feeling from this article is that anxiety is always pathological. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC) [reply ]
